This sort of goes along with my penchant for old photos as well. The Holga gives an image that artsy quality that a lot of older pictures have. Simple, low technology with high color saturation. I did a Holga series for my high school Photography class. We were using black and white film so I chose to shoot the series (a triptych) using a black horse at my barn. It was a bright day when I shot so the ground looked bleached out, creating a great contrast between the background and the horse. They turned out pretty well and I was proud. Anyway, I like the simplicity of Holga photos and the nostalgia they add to photos which are, typically, already charged with the power of memories.
