Zebras are pretty awesome. Their stripes are beautiful, especially in a herd like this. It's hard to tell them apart, of course, but the patterns they create are beautiful and interesting. When I go to the zoo, zebras are always on my list of things to see (along with polar bears, tigers and elephants). They are so like horses and yet so different and mysterious--I wonder if they could be trained to be ridden. Even if they could be, though, I think I prefer their wild mystery to a domestic familiarity. We need some things to remain exotic and unfamiliar.
