(this is my picture!)I love the smooth, etched features of Roman marble statues. They are elegant, amazingly detailed and so graceful. They astound me when I think that they came from a rough block of stone. Those artists were so talented! This one in particular--the expression is just so...striking. It moves something within me and the fact that artists many years ago could do that using chisels and hammers is amazing.
